Natural Pools

Undoubtedly the primary tourist attraction in the municipality and across the entire island, this complex features natural pools of volcanic origin with a distinctive appearance. The pools are filled with seawater that naturally flows in, continuously refreshing the crystal-clear waters that enchant visitors. Here, visitors can dive, swim and immerse themselves in their imaginations. Alongside their natural beauty, the pools offer essential amenities including a playground, disabled access ramp, bathrooms and changing facilities, a bar and a first aid station. Madeira Aquarium

The aquarium in Porto Moniz is housed within an exact replica of the São João Baptista Fort that once stood on this site. The interior of the fort has been carefully adapted to accommodate the Madeira Aquarium. This attraction features 11 exhibition tanks showcasing various marine habitats found in Madeira waters.
